George J Miller, 1880-1973 collection, 1865-1988.

This collection documents the life of George J Miller, a nationally known geographer, who spent much of his professional career at the Mankato State Normal School (later State Teachers College). Miller attained national attention through his research and publications as well as his work co-founding the National Council for Geographic Education. The collection primarily focuses on Miller's professional life but includes some personal information. The professional material includes field trip notes, maps, photographs, correspondence, speeches, publication information, and professional organization materials. The few personal items include photographs, diplomas, and a tape-recorded interview with George J Miller.
